This Nike Dunk Low Honors the City of Brotherly Love

Philadelphia – this one’s for you.
Back in April, Nike teamed up with local boutiques in Atlanta to design an Air Max 95 that celebrated the city. And later this month, the Swoosh is set to release a Nike Dunk Low inspired by the City of Brotherly Love, with a little help from beloved Philadelphia retailers Lapstone & Hammer and Creme.
The sneaker boasts a white tumbled leather base with grey cracked leather overlays on the mudguards and eyestays. This detail represents the sprawling concrete of the city. Hairy grey suede is used for the heel panels, while the distinctive shade of green used for the laces is reminiscent of a certain bird-themed football team.
One of the Swoosh overlays bears a cracked grey exterior that will give way to a colorful design the more you wear them. This detail represents the city’s attitude: tough on the outside but vibrant underneath it all. The same colorful pattern appears on the sneaker’s sockliners, tongue tag, and heel tabs. The heel tabs proudly display the word “Philly” instead of Nike.
Down below, the sneaker features white rubber midsole units with a hidden Air cushioning system. Dark grey rubber outsoles cement the design.
Will you be looking to add a pair to your collection? The Nike Dunk Low “Philly” will be available on Saturday, June 1st, in-store and online at DTLR.com in men’s and grade-school sizes.
