Jordan Unveils a New Flip on the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12

Picture an Air Jordan 12 with a sleek white leather upper adorned with black pebbled leather mudguards – sounds familiar, doesn’t it? That’s what you’ll be getting with the new “Taxi Flip” Air Jordan 12, which pays homage to the original “Taxi” colorway conceived by Tinker Hatfield back in 1996. But it’s not a 1-to-1 remake of the “Taxi.” Bright pops of "Gym Red" on the tongues and side panels make this iteration stand on its own.

What sets this new colorway apart is its ability to seamlessly blend heritage with modernity. While staying true to the iconic white-and-black "Taxi" design that captivated sneakerheads in '96, the addition of "Gym Red" accents infuses a contemporary flair that demands attention. The premium materials used in its construction give it a seasonal refresh, while the sunrise-inspired stitching on the upper serves as a nostalgic nod to the original design's roots.

Down below, the sneaker boasts black-and-white foam midsole units, which house the silhouette’s signature Zoom Air cushioning system. The midsoles are connected to black rubber outsoles that boast carbon fiber–like shank plates that run through the midfoot.

Need a pair? We thought so. The Air Jordan 12 Retro “Taxi Flip” is set to be released on Saturday, May 25th, in-store and online at DTLR.com. It will be available in full-family sizing.
