Introducing the Air Jordan 39

The Air Jordan line has long been considered the apex of performance basketball sneakers since its first entry, the Air Jordan 1, hit shelves back in 1985. The series has seen 38 entries in its nearly 40-year run, with technologies advancing with each new model. And later this month, the line is set to expand yet again with the launch of Jordan Brand’s latest Air Jordan silhouette, the Air Jordan 39.

The Air Jordan 39 was first seen on the feet of Jordan Brand athlete and Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero during Game 1 of the team’s Eastern Conference Playoff matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. It features a breathable mesh upper with decorative embroidery on the quarter panels. From there, leather overlays are strategically placed on high-wear areas – toeboxes, eyestays, and heels – to support lateral movements.

Down below, the sneaker boasts a state-of-the-art cushioning system. Large full-length Zoom Air units are housed within thick slabs of Nike ZoomX foam for optimal stability and comfort on the court. Grippy rubber outsole units provide traction for quick cuts, completing the design.

Will you be looking to try a pair out? The Air Jordan 39 will be available on Tuesday, July 23rd, in-store and online at DTLR.com for a retail price of $200.
